I don’t charge a separate call-out fee. I’ll assess the job, tell you what’s involved, and give you a clear price before any work starts. You decide whether to go ahead.
I’ll tell you honestly. If something’s going to keep causing problems and a replacement makes more sense, I’ll say so. If a repair will sort it properly, I’ll do that. I’m not in the business of creating unnecessary work.
Many jobs I can sort on the first visit. Some need parts or a bit more work — in which case I’ll tell you upfront and agree a time to come back.
